RECORDING

Nothing beats the sound of real strings. The music & atmosphere created by live musicians is second to none, taking your project to a whole new level .

Charlie has used his many years of experience in the industry and his passion for music technology, as well as consultation with some of the leading sound engineers in the UK, to ensure that all equipment and recording processes used by Hi&Lo Music are of the highest professional standard. He has also recruited the services of the best of his fellow session musicians to offer a high-end one-stop solution for remote recorded strings of any configuration, for any project.

  • All tracks will be recorded with two full-length takes for convenient editing, unless otherwise discussed. On completion of the recording, these can be uploaded to a shared Dropbox, iCloud, or GDrive, or we will send them to you directly via WeTransfer.

  • Any patches or alternate/additional takes you require will be prioritised to avoid any delays to you mixing and mastering your project.

  • All our fees are based on a per hour rate, with a timer running on the project. This limits the potential for clients overspending on time the project does not require. We are precise with our timekeeping, so that our fees always represent excellent value.

HOW IT WORKS

YOUR RECORDING PROJECT - START TO FINISH

  • The first step is to contact us to discuss your project, either by phone or email, or if you prefer we can schedule a video call.

  • If you have a demo track/s and any PDF files of the music, they’ll help us determine the length of time required to complete your project and allow us to provide you with an accurate quote.

  • If you’re happy to proceed, we’ll provide you with a contract of services to sign and return via scan or post.

  • If your track is for commercial use, Hi&Lo Music will require the necessary producer-signed BPI or PACT release forms.

  • Before we start recording your music, we’ll need all the necessary backing tracks for import into the session, as well as any MIDI tempo maps required. You’ll also need to specify the sample rate and bit depth for the session, and whether you’d like the strings recorded in mono or stereo.

  • When the tracks have been recorded, we will send them to you for review. Once you’ve listened to them, you can let us know if you require any patches or additional work and we’ll get right on it.

  • Upon completion of the project, we will send you the bounced files and our invoice.
